Case No. 8 · “I'm Feeling Good”
The Case of the Silent Estate
In 1903 the House of Paperson went silent. Six rooms still hold what the family left behind. Search each one, collect the evidence, and open the vault in the cellar.

I · The Great Hall
The family crest
It hangs above the entrance, polished for a century. Visitors swear it moves when touched more than once.
Evidence found: a sealed letter
“The vault answers to four numerals. They hide in the study, the gallery, the wireless and the floor. Count them in order, I to IV. The key sleeps in the drawer that knows our name.”
Need a hint?
Persistence. Tap the crest three times, quickly.
II · The Study
The first ledger
One ruled page from 1857. The bottom half looks blank, but the paper smells faintly of lemon.
Evidence found: invisible ink
“I · The first numeral is one.”
Need a hint?
Lemon juice ink appears with heat. Press and hold until the page warms up.
III · The Gallery
The portrait
Toiletticus himself, hanging slightly crooked. The staff were forbidden to fix it.

Evidence found: scratched behind the frame
“II · The second numeral is nothing at all.”
Need a hint?
Some rules are meant to be broken. Fix the frame.
IV · The East Wing
The floorboards
The staff wrote of low sounds here at night, steady as a heartbeat, felt more than heard.
Evidence found: a rhythm in the floor
“IV · Count the heartbeats.”
Need a hint?
Turn your sound up (or watch the boards). The number of heartbeats is the fourth numeral.
V · The Wireless Room
The wireless
An old receiver, still warm. Someone left a note on the dial: 'The year it all began.'
· · · · · ·
Evidence found: a voice through the static
“III · The third numeral is one… repeat… one.”
Need a hint?
The year the fortune began is in the family motto. Tune the dial to it.
VI · The Writing Desk
The locked drawer
A brass lock with eight letter wheels. Engraved beneath it: 'Only family may enter.'
Evidence found: the vault key
“An iron key, tagged in gold thread: 'Cellar.'”
Need a hint?
Only family may enter. What is the family's name?
The vault
Case No. 8
Locked. Collect all six pieces of evidence first.
From the Paperson vault
You found what the house kept hidden: the second drop of “I’m Feeling Good,” recorded in the east wing where the floorboards still shake. Few visitors make it this far. Play it loud.
